April 1- Marathon

We sadly left Stock Island Marina Village about 8:00 this morning.  I have had such a wonderful 4 months enjoying this lovely resort with 2 warm salt water pools, coffee shop, doggie store, and 3 restaurants.  They fulfilled the majority of our needs.  Needless to say, I can’t wait to return again.
The day turned out to be very hot and sunny, much like a NC summer day on the water.  We had up 2 sails and motored at nearly 7 knots through mild chop with thankfully a nice breeze to give us a bit of cool.
On Wednesday I had made a reservation at Burdine’s Marina in Marathon.  We had visited their restaurant in January and liked the food and outdoor atmosphere.  But when we called them today to get directions about our slip and where to place lines, we got a very surly guy who could barely speak English and was rude, hanging up on Bryce.  Let’s just say the docking was hurendious and there was no love lost.  We will never, ever come into this marina again- a lot of aggrivation for $150!
